A Year in the Art Studio
When I first moved from Greenville, SC to Asheville, NC, I rented a tiny home in the mountains north of the city. Every corner was full of paintings, market supplies, and shop inventory. The concept of having an outside space dedicated to my work, moved from a childhood day dream to a necessity.
In studio, August 2026, working on a new collection of work.
In the summer of 2025, I met an artist who recommended looking into availble studios at a new building in the River Arts District called RAD Rendezvous. The building was an old factory, purchased & converted by a group of investors, to provide new studios for artists after the devestation of Helene.
I secured a small studio and made a childhood dream come true.
It’s been a year since RAD Rendezvous opened its doors and I cannot overstate how impactful the past year here has been. In particular for the community of artists I’ve been introduced to. Building a career in the arts can be challening and having artist friends to lean on & celebrate with is essential. I don’t know where I would be without the community around me.
